DR IAIN STEWART
I was awarded a BSc First class honours in Functional Genomics and Stem Cell Science, and a four-year Medical Research Council PhD Studentship studying neural progenitors at the University of Sheffield.
I am an early career researcher with an interdisciplinary background in molecular and cellular biology, epidemiology, and data science. Previously employed as Senior Analyst at the Care Quality Commission with a focus on unexpected mortality using large healthcare datasets, I am now the statistical lead for the respiratory theme of the NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre and is statistical editor at Thorax (BMJ).
My current research interests focus on genomic, microbiomic and metabolomic studies of clinical data in rare lung disease, as well as quantitative synthesis of published data.
I also lead an interdisciplinary and international collaboration that uses technological innovations to manage lung disease in developing nations.
